George MacAllister is a high school science teacher living in Florida. One evening while on the beach, George is approached by a stranger who knows more about George than he shouldhis deceased wifes name, what he taught in class today, and the names of his pets. The mans name is Milo, and he reveals that he is an alien and is aware of Georges doubt of the existence of alien life. Milo invites George on a tour of his facilities, miles underwater. Milo is a Vesi, a people who originated from a planet destroyed by a supernova and who took up residence on Earth hundreds of millions of years ago. They have been living on the surface as well as in their underwater facility. They are an intelligence-driven culture, and George has been chosen by the Vesi for a special mission that will reveal to humankind the concerns the Vesi people have about the safety of Earth and its inhabitants. The Vesi are extremely advanced technologically, although humans are on the early edge of some of their technology. But first, Milo exposes George to truths he had never imaginedtruths about the demise of the dinosaurs, the existence of myths like Bigfoot, the Loch Ness monster, and other historical mysteries.
